An Indonesian citizen or Indonesian citizen from Tegal, Central Java, Sujono Setiawati has successfully established an Indonesian restaurant in the United States with her husband, Raimund Stieger. This Indonesian diaspora has since 1999 established the Euro Bistro restaurant business in Herndon, Virginia, United States.
“My husband really likes to cook. (He) graduated from a chef school in (Switzerland),” Noni said as quoted by VOA.
Stieger, originally from Australia, came to the US in 1993. He worked at a family friend’s restaurant in Washington, D.C.
Euro Bistro is actually a restaurant that serves classic German and Austrian dishes, such as the Wiener Schnitzel or thinly sliced bread which is a favorite, as well as sausages and sauerkraut or fermented cabbage.
Several other menus at Euro Bistro are also inspired by Italian and American specialties. However, not infrequently Euro Bistro also introduces dishes from Noni’s homeland, which are even usually requested by regular guests.

Noni often serves Indonesian food on special occasions.

Some mainstay menus such as fried chicken, fried rice, fried noodles, rendang, chicken opor, chicken rice, chicken rice from Semarang for example. Her husband, Raimund Steiger is also adept at cooking Indonesian food.

The key to its success, besides delicious food, is friendly service. Euro Bistro has succeeded in attracting the attention of regular customers from various countries, who often come 2-3 times a week.
Dana Rodgers has been a loyal Euro Bistro customer for about 20 years and visits almost every week.
According to Steiger, most of his American customers are members of the military who have served in Germany.
Besides being able to serve delicious dishes, the key for Noni is good service.. Don’t get excited about it, if you get excited about it you won’t come back again,” Noni said jokingly.
